INDUCTION COURSE - TO SKILLS FOR CARE CRITERIA

The induction course is aimed at new employees within the care industry where there is no previous, or very little, experience in a formal care role. The object of this course is to provide the new employee with structured induction to include all mandatory training requirements.

Benefit to the employer. The new employee becomes an effective and efficient member of the team in a much shorter length of time avoiding the use of valuable resources on supervision, training and correction of problems. It also reduces the turn over of staff and supports stability as the new employee adjusts more rapidly to the care environment.

Benefit to the employee. This course provides the new employee with a sense of worth within the workplace, an obvious and immediate increase in confidence and the feeling of “belonging” as an active member of the team. This course can provide the new employee with the insight that training is continuous within care and may be the first experience of positive learning leading to N.V.Qs and a career in care.

Course Format.

In order to meet the requirements of Skills for Care the new employee must provide evidence that they gained knowledge and practice in a wide variety of care activities. They must also provide evidence of understanding of the knowledge gained. For these reason the course has two elements.

A series of training sessions that can be booked from the L.A.C.C.A.T. Services Limited training programme on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the care organisation. These training sessions are facilitated in our training suite on our premises at Jarrow.

A workbook provided by L.A.C.C.A.T. Services Limited and assessed by one of our trainers.
